I think it would be really fun if we could get a chat box in here. The Ex Scieno Forum has one too. I like it very much. But if you could, please make yours much better, because theirs is painfully slow. Also, I hope you change the colors in here, for the future, they are very unflattering, unless you just want to be practical.

We've talked about it .. but Kendra didn't have much time to deal with it before her wedding. So, we'll have to wait till she comes back to talk more about it.

You can use gabbly to chat at the site. It's pretty easy, just punch in the address: gabbly.com/exscientologykids.com and you're good to go if your browser is supported.

Some sites where they have chat add-on code get pretty slow at times. Where you are on a shared server, the admins will pull the plug on your site if they think it is using too many resources or having lots of hung connections or hogging the CPU.

People must remember that the conversations can be seen by everyone too. Nothing like reading something you typed in jest, taken out of context and used as a slur against you.

Other than that ... rock on.

mayhaps an IRC web portal to a server controled by the forum admins might help solve some of those issues?

Its not hogging the servers that serve the forum.

Its controled by people that can be trusted.

Its moderated so that people wont get hurt by jackasses.

Its safe from CoS's prying eyes.

Its can be made relatively secure.

and it has full fledged admin abilites I.E. bans, kicks, Motd ect ect.

Could try setting one up from the partyvan network, but that does run the risk on many anons entering with their own version of heated debate

Just wanted to add a little update to this. It seems that the London people have set up their own IRC server, and it might be possible to use it. It has less people, and I might have enough sway to be able to ask people to play nice should they enter the channel.

Although, this is Anonymous, and nothing is certain

hey- I'm just the new kid and no virtually nothing about computers but IMO a live chat would be a wonderful Idea. Sometimes you have a question, comment or better yet, a concern and would like realtime advise. It's tourtorous to wait for an email or PM reply. Sometimes you don't know who is the best to ask either.....JMO

I really wanna put one on here as well.

Can people please suggest a good chat box that doesn't slow things down too much? Bear in mind that we're on a shared server.

I could poke around myself, as well. I wouldn't have any problem paying for it if it isn't too expensive.

Oh, I wouldn't worry about the money. I'm just sayin' if you know of a good chat box, and it costs a little cash, go ahead and suggest it.

Can you not get a MEEBO chat box in here. It is free! MY HTML is off, so I can't post one to see if it would work on here. I am sure you could start a thread with solely for MEEBO chat boxes on particular topics, just so we don't have one packed chat box that gets too full. I think that would drive much traffic to your site as well.

If your HTML is on, perhaps you can repost this code and see if you get a free meebo chat box working!

<div style="width:550px"><style>.mcrmeebo { display: block; background:url("http://widget.meebo.com/r.gif") no-repeat top right; } .mcrmeebo:hover { background:url("http://widget.meebo.com/ro.gif") no-repeat top right; } </style><object width="550" height="415"><param name="movie" value="http://widget.meebo.com/mcr.swf?id=EhxVlyMtGz"></param><embed src="http://widget.meebo.com/mcr.swf?id=EhxVlyMtGz" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="550" height="415" /></object><a href="http://www.meebo.com/rooms/" class="mcrmeebo"><img alt="Create a Meebo Chat Room" src="http://widget.meebo.com/b.gif" width="550" height="45" style="border:0px"/></a></div>
