Non Registered Forums full of Spam, Virus and Porn links...

It seems to me that those forums are only used for the afore mentioned items in my title.

Is there something we can do to stop this sort of thing from happening.

Spambots.

Since the forum is no sign in feature and anyone can post it attracts spambots like bees to a honeypot. As soon as you close down the no-registry needed part of it they'll dissappear. But I don't think it would be any good to shut it down because it is quite useful for the overall forum.

What I do reccomend to everyone is that you don't click on the topics, and certainly not the links. That'll only attract more

IPs change every post.

First time it happened, it was the same and we banned the IP. Now .. it wouldnt work.

I must admit that I find some of the poorly written thread titles amusing. What the hell is Nal sex?

hmm there is a new PHPbb version out wich suports beter security measures. Also a small side note.

Tracking IPs for indentification purposes is Illegal and a breach of privacy.

Well. Different countries different laws.

The software allows us to see the IP address of a post. This is common. We do not track down the identity of the person. Only ban an IP if we have constant troubles from it.
