Chat?

Are we gonna ever get a chat room?

I guess it's not part of this software package, but I've been sitting here waiting to check if a post I wrote was seen by someone and realized it'd be easier to ask with a chat.

Just thinking ..

An irc channel would be cool, and they're pretty easy to set up.

Hey, tech people: I'm looking into getting a chat option for the forum due to all the suggestions about it. However, I'm not sure which way I want to go. I don't want to do an IRC thing because not everyone is familiar with IRC and it can be a little confusing at first, so I've decided on one of these three options:

Flash-based chat?
Java-based chat?
Shoutbox?

Can I get some input please?

I've used the first two that I know of. I prefer the Java based one. But that doesn't alter the validity of the other two ....

Um from a dumbass who knows nothing about these thing - just a box in which we can all type messages into to talk with whomever is in the chat at the time! Something like what ESMB has.

Did I just totally expose my computer illiteracy here or what?

Nope.

I've been into computers for 28 years now and I would have put it the same way. :P
