Woman guilty of assault

http://thechronicleherald.ca/Metro/1180909.html

An assault against a masked demonstrator protesting against the Church of Scientology has landed a Halifax woman in legal trouble.

Nicole Cassandra Andersen, a 40-year-old personal-care worker, pleaded guilty in Halifax on Tuesday to assault for punching the protester in the face near the Scientology Life Improvement Center on Dutch Village Road on Sept. 19.

She will return to court July 20 for sentencing.

Andersen has told police that she has no a connection to the Church of Scientology.

And a spokeswoman for the Church of Scientology said Wednesday that Andersen is not a member of the church in Halifax and does not have any affiliation with it.

"The answer is no," said Pat Felske, a Church of Scientology spokeswoman in Toronto.

"As a matter of fact, when the incident occurred, no one was at the church at all," Felske said Wednesday

Scientology Assaults Human Rights Activists

http://la.indymedia.org/news/2010/05/238772.php

One of the problems with being on the front lines of human rights and civil rights is the violence that is routinely committed against those who advocate.

The Scientology corporation has about 40,000 remaining customers world wide, operating from a dwindling number of business offices in about 50 countries, many of which have criminal indictments levied against the corporation or have banned the criminal enterprose outright.

Human rights is one major issue in which Scientology is notorious. Kidnapping, holding people against their will, forcefully disconnecting families, and other behavior is typical for the racketeering that the company is periodically raided indicted for along with money laundering, domestic espionage, and other more serious crimes, including murder.

In the video referenced above, we find one of the few remaining Scientology ringleaders frustrated at the growing human rights activism which has been educating people and slowly killing Scientology.

I saw footage of the assault on Youtube. It was pretty childish actually, the protester was wearing a mask when she punched him in the face, so not much harm done.
Still, this is assault regardless of whether any major injuries had been inflicted.
