We need a topic to get this forum rolling with posts again, so this is current and debateable enough I think.


Haven't had much time to pay attention till now, just caught the match between Spain and Italy.



Holy crap! What a match! Doesn't matter who you're rooting for, that was fantastic either way. (Although rooting for Spain does help in how insane it was.)


The semi-finals are now; Spain vs. Russia and Germany vs. Turkey.
Opinions on these match ups everyone.

I just saw the end of the Spain-Italy match on a replay broadcast. The Spanish goalkeeper made two very good saves on penalty kicks. I don't know enough to analyze upcoming matchups. Because I have spent some time in Holland, I was disappointed that the Dutch were beaten by the Russians. BTW, my introduction to what we call "soccer" was a demonstration of some fancy moves by a Norwegian exchange student who came to my home town when I was about 13.

so cheesed of that the dutch are out! Seriously, tight game. went to the pub when the score hit 1-1 (around 85 mins). came back and was so gutted!

Good tight game but NL missed so many chances to make it 4-3.

Russia and Germany for the final.

The short-handed Turks fought valiantly and gave us an exciting match, but ultimately fell to the powerful Germans. I'd like to see Spain beat Russia tomorrow.

Astra's prediction proves to be "on the money" as Spain dominates Russia 3-0. Spain is looking like a champion, but you never know.

If Spain can hit the grove there is no one that can stop them, unless you put a tank in front of the goal.

Germany looked very lackluster, but then again, that was a match they figured would be simple, they know better with Spain after seeing this. I'd say it's open, but if Spain manages to keep the rythm they had in this match they will win.
