Well, what I was hearing, was first, that people resent being reminded that "I told you so," however gently it may be worded. My response, is no kidding. What's the point in telling someone that unless it's to make them wrong and you right? No matter how gently it's done, it is an attempt at dominance, a way of showing superiority, whether it be intellectual superiority or whatever.
No one likes that. Even if they don't see it consciously, they get it, on a gut-level , that they're being reminded that you told them so. They are having their noses rubbed in something, and they do not appreciate you for it. I have never been in Scientology, so for all I know, it might be considered a kindness within Scientology to rub someone's nose in their failings. In the "real world," it is not, and you will invariably be resented for it.
Then, what I heard was that you couldn't find the right buttons to push in order to get what you want from them. That is manipulation. Again, in the real world, it will invariably be resented. Invariably. By anyone. By everyone. Every time. I'm just trying to flatten the "real world" learning curve for you. Humiliation, domination, and manipulation will not bring you any adoration. The tech isn't working; try something else.
Of course, it's possible that I heard wrong, and I'll end up listening to Kendra say, "I told you so."
