That's so sick. Apparently, forcing people to divorce is one of DM's favorite past-times. There's a list a mile long here of a whole bunch of people at the very top of Scientology who were forced to divorce by DM:



For the record, everything on that list is technically rumor, and unsubstantiated, but frankly I believe it.

I'm going to plant myself firmly between the two extremes on this one. Were there marriages where people were really in love in the SO? Of course.

Was there a lot of "marriage musical chairs"? Yes, I think there was. I wasn't in, but quite a few of my friends that went into the Sea Org from Delphi would get married on and off for ages. One girl was married 3 times in one year.

Another story that totally broke my heart. A young couple had just gotten married. The boy was in love with this girl!! Unfortunately, his mother passed away right after they got married from Cancer. The boy was obviously heartbroken, but at least he had a wife to be there for him. Or not. Two to three weeks later, his wife got named to be promoted to Int (the base at Hemet). He was not qualified at the time, so she up and left him and was out of there a few days later. I felt so bad for the poor guy. He just had his mother die and after only being married a couple months, his wife leaves him right after this tragedy to go "do the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics" Ouch!!
