Hey Legion,
Sorry no one's answered your question yet.
The thing is, a Scientology kid is never told "this is what you can read, this is what you can't read". They are told, conversely, "you are free to research everything you want, to read anything you like". It's one of the great contraditions in Scientology.
Here's how those sentences should be finished:
You are free to research and read anything... provided it's not anti-Scientology.
You are free to participate in any discussion... as long as it's not with people we say are SP.
You are allowed to read any book you want... as long as it's not an anti-Scientology book, as long as it's not about the positive aspects of psychiatry.
You are allowed to watch any movie you choose... as long as it's not a pro-psych or anti-Scientology movie.
If you DO read a pro-psych or anti-Scientology book, or watch a movie of that nature, or find a web page like that, you may not, under any circumstances, express agreement with it.
Somehow, though, Scientology kids know this in the depths of their soul. They are never told not to read things, it's just that there's this sort of black shroud over anything anti-Scientology. You ever played Starcraft or Dungeon Keeper? It's like... the parts on the map you can't see yet. Somehow you just know not to go over there.
