The great blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach; but we shut our eyes, and like people in the dark, we fall foul upon the very thing we search for, without finding it.

Our ideas, like orange-plants, spread out in proportion to the size of the box which imprisons the roots.

We completely understand that many current Scientologists and ex-Scientologists are nervous about sending email, joining forums, or contributing to anti-Scientology sites. Our goal here is to create a safe environment where people who still have family members in Scientology, or who are nervous about discussing Scientology in public, can feel comfortable expressing their opinions, regardless of what those opinions are.
For that reason, we will never give out your personal information to anybody, unless requested to do so by law enforcement. Your IP address, email address, and personal details will not be released for any reason whatsoever. We will not share the contents of your emails with anyone, unless you specifically request that we do. If you are still concerned about anonymity, we urge you to set up a dedicated email account, or open a free, encrypted email account at hushmail.com. To protect your IP address, consider surfing our sites through well-respected proxies such as Tor.
Why the Secrecy? The Scientology Ethics and Justice Manual lists these things among its High Crimes:
"156) Public disavowal of Scientology or Scientologists in good standing with Scientology organizations.
157) Public statements against Scientology or Scientologists but not to Committees of Evidence duly convened.
158) Proposing, advising or voting for legislation or ordinances, rules or laws directed toward the suppression of Scientology.
159) Pronouncing Scientologists guilty of the practice of standard Scientology.
160) Testifying hostilely before state or public inquiries into Scientology to suppress it.
162) Bringing civil suit against any Scientology organization or Scientologist, including the nopayment of bills or failure to refund, without first calling the matter to the attention of the International Justice Chief and receiving a reply.
163) Demanding the return of any or all fees paid for standard training or processing actually received or received in part and still available but undelivered only because of departure of the person demanding (the fees must be refunded but this policy applies).
164) Writing anti-Scientology letters to the press or giving anti-Scientology or anti-Scientologist data to the press.
165) Continued membership in a divergent group.
166) Continued adherence to a person or group pronounced a suppressive person or group by HCO.
167) Failure to handle or disavow and disconnect from a person demonstrably guilty of suppressive acts."
What that means, essentially, is that Scientologists are not allowed to speak to anti-Scientologists, even online. They may not express anti-Scientology sentiments to the press. They may not sue Scientology for any reason. They may not advocate laws that would inhibit Scientology. They may not publicly speak against Scientology.
As this site is considered "anti-Scientology" by the CoS, any Scientologists engaging in discussion with site admins or site members could be said to be committing a High Crime. High Crimes are severely punished, often by expulsion and disconnection.
