Long absence - lost friend

I've been absent for quite a while but have checked in a couple of times. My life has prevented me from spending very much time on Scientology things but I like to get updated from time to time, so I pop in here once in a while. Last year I had some sad news, A friend I had who was involved with Scientology years ago seems to have been drawn back in. He had fallen on some pretty hard times and instead of reaching out to those of us who had been like family, he reached out to someone still involved in the CoS. He got pretty defensive very quickly when I asked what was going on in his life. I believe that I've lost that friend. I will have to come to terms with it but is does hurt.
