Kendra, it is interesting to note that your ideas on language are very similar to George Bernard Shaw's. He was of the opinion (and now it's been proven), that the dialect you use separates you from others.
English is the biggest example of this. With almost 400 dialects of the English language (not counting specific technical jargon including cult jargon), it is very difficult to have one person understand another unless they are from the same region, the same social class and also the same generation. If you start throwing in jargon, it becomes impossible for two English speaking people of different classes, generations and regions to understand one another.
But then, without language and the ability to utter something as nebulous as a thought, we wouldn't be the divine beings we are.
Yes, I'm still an atheist, but the usage of God, divine and other "religious" words are meant as metaphors for concepts I don't have words for.
