Religion is just an elaborate system to reinforce a personal crutch. That crutch being the burning desire for reason that the weak-willed (or just weak) person requires in order to justify existence with all its horrors and insanities.
On that subject, one thing that really gets my goat is people who finally get out of the sadistic trap that is scientology and proceed to fall straight into another one by "finding Jesus" or some other such buffoonery! I mean, has humanity come to such a low point that we actually require some utterly retarded explanation to existence just to exist without apathy?
ANYway, the only reason a person would want a religion is that they are too feeble of personal resolve to find a their own reason to exist outside of the ineffable goings-on that could take place before life or after death (assuming either of those exist...(I'll believe it when I see it, until then its just another theory).
Just in case my very opinionated and angry rant begets cries of hypocrisy, my firm belief is that no one CAN ever know for sure until they know for sure....meaning death. Whether its an implant station, heaven, or just eternal black static, you won't know until you get there.
And anyone who says otherwise is selling something. Guaranteed.
