I know of a girl - Ann Marie Apodaca who was recruited into the SO last year. She is 13. Or at least she was when she joined.
They still stick to their same crummy tactics of taking kids when they are too young to know better.

the cadets could only be cadets if they had a parent in the SO.. i knew EPFers that were even 9 or 10 years old, i was 11 or 12 when i was in don't remember.. but they make u work as hard as any 25 year old or so... the only difference is that they hide u from the public so they won't see that they make minors work like that... so we were rushed to clean the entire FH in 2 or 3 groups of around 4 people before 7:30 am i think cause that's around when the service areas started opening and public shouln't see us.
Once they made us help finish with the tampa org building, minors involved, worked for around a week with no sleep and little food. I wasn't part of it much cause i caused too many "enturbulation" sorry but i couln't lift a 60kg bag it wasn't my fault it almost weight as much as i did...

The legal department of OSA is "Uncomfortable" having minors in the SO, especially at higher orgs like ILO. They definitely want at least one parent to be in the SO.
As for education, the attitude is when you reach the age of majority, you are 'lucky' because you can drop out of GED studies. I don't like that attitude.
