Evil is, I think, a person using or treating another person (or being) in such a way that disregards or discounts their humanity, especially when that disregard is used in service of the "evil-doer"'s will.

There are degrees of evil, depending on how much the victim is degraded and how long the effect of the degradation lasts.

Coming from a christian perspective I believe that in the beginning man was good.....(basically lacked the knowledge to be evil) then sin or evil entered the picture. I believe all humans have sin in them....but all humans no matter how bad they may seem also have love in them which is the best description I can think of for "good"(apart from god but thats not where I was going ) This is really hard to paraphrase.....I think when a person is acting out of Love they are not being evil...even if the result of their action is harmful. If someone is totally convinced that COS is the only way then could be acting out of love trying to get their loved ones involved.......theirfore ther actions were good but the result was bad........any questions on this would be nice Im having a hard time writing elequently right now and a question would probably help me to clarify what im saying lol

Oh the intentions are good.

But the result is the issue.

all of the motives of our crimes are based on generally these two elements
while ignorance is another arguable element of the motives
